Acts 4:13 "They couldn't take their eyes off them - Peter and John standing there so confident, so sure of themselves! Their fascination deepened when they realized these two were laymen with no training in Scripture or formal education." What confidence comes in Christ. Lord, allow me the confidence of you when I get in situations to proclaim you and your truth. Let me put down my social fears and failures because you and your truth command attention, not anything that I do.

Acts 4:31 "While they were praying, the place where they were meeting trembled and shook. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak God's word with fearless confidence." Thank you, father, that I have in me the same Holy Spirit that these people had. Allow me to claim, hold onto, and exhibit the same confidence in you that they did.

Psalm 4:3 "Look at this: look who got picked by God! He listens the split second I call to Him." Thank you for always being there and never leaving.

Proverbs 4:23-27 "Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that's where life starts. Don't talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither to the right nor left; leave evil in the dust." I must be careful, mindful, and thoughtful in everything I say and do. Help me guard and protect my heart and others.

April 14th, 2009

Acts 3:6-8 "Peter said, 'I don't have a nickel to my name, but what I do have, I give you; In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!' He grabbed him by the right hand and pulled him up. In an instant his feet and ankles became firm. He jumped to his feet and walked. The man went into the Temple with them, walking back and forth, dancing & praising God." Man, to have faith like both Peter and the beggar. God's still in the miracle business, I just have to have faith to believe and to see it! v16"-yes, faith & nothing but faith put this man healed and whole right before your eyes."

Acts 3:19 "Now it's time to change your ways! Turn to face God so he can wipe away your sins, pour out showers of blessing to refresh you, and send you the Messiah he prepared for you, namely, Jesus."
Acts 3:26 "But you are first in line: God, having raised up His Son, sent Him to bless you as you turn, one by one, from your evil ways." God really does want to bless me, I just have to be willing to trust and turn away from my desires and ways. Lord, help me as I strive to live your ways and not mine.

Psalm 3:3 "But you, God, shield me on all sides; You ground my feet, you lift my head high." God's protection is better than any we can devise. If I live my life for Him and not for myself, while everything won't be easy, I'll be protected, because v. 8 "Real help comes from God. Your blessings clothes your people."

Proverbs 3:3-12 "Don't loose your grip on Love and Loyalty. Tie them around your neck; carve their initials on your heart. Earn a reputation for living well in God's eyes and the eyes of the people. Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He's the one who will keep you on track. Don't asume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life! Honor God with everything you own; give Him the first and the best. Your barns will burst, your wine vats will brim over. But don't, dear friend, resent God's discipline; don't sulk under His loving correction. It's the child He loves that God corrects; a father's delight is behind all this." Wow, what an amazing passage to live by. So many commands that I need to put in my heart and remember. Don't loose love and loyalty, Trust God, don't try to figure everything out, Listen for God everywhere, Don't assume I know it all, run to God, run from evil, honor God, give to God, don't resent God's discipline. I pray that I will stive to live by this example and work on each one of these commands. Allow me to always listen and look for you in my life. All of these will be difficult, and will be hard to follow through on, but with you and your love, I will try.

Proverbs 3:21-32 "Dear friend, guard Clear Thinking and Common sense with your life; don't for a minute loose sight of them. They'll keep your soul alive and well, they'll keep you fit and attractive. You'll travel safely, you'll neither tire nor trip. You'll take afternoon naps without a worry, you'll enjoy a good nights sleep. No need to panic over alarms or surprises, or predictions that doomsday's just around the corner, because God will be right there with you. He'll keep you safe and sound. Never walk away from someone who deserves help; your hand is God's hand for that person. Don't tell your neighbor 'Maybe some other time' or 'Try me tomororw' when the money's right there in your pocket. Don't figure ways of taking advantage of your neighbor when he's sitting there trusting and unsuspecting. Don't walk around with a chip on your shoulder, always spoiling for a fight. Don't try to be like those who shoulder their way through life. Why be a bully? "Why not?" you say, because God can't stand twisted souls. It's the straightforward who get His respect." More commands to live by. Guard clear thinking and common sense, never walk away from someone who deserves help, don't take advantage of your neighbor, don't walk around with a chip on your shoulder. And what a great promise in these verses if you follow these that "God will be right there with you." With you by my side, God, I can do whatever you want me to. Father, thank you for that promise and for the promise that your ways are the better ways. I pray that you would give me the strength, encouragement, and support to live like you would want me to live. Whatever you would have for my life, allow me to allow you to do it. I'm sure that I'll try to stand up to you, but help me realize that your plans are better than mine. Thank you for all your blessings in my life and show people you through me. Allow me to have good attitudes at work, deal with people in my life in the appropriate ways, handle adversity and trials with joy and with grace. I should have no reason for stress in my life, and help me remember that, because you have taken care of the greatest concern in the world, and that's death and sin. Thank you for the blessing and knowledget that because I believe and trust in you, I don't have to worry about it. Help me live your life with mine. I love you, praise you, and desire more of you in my life, Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.

Today's Thoughts

Acts 2:27-28 "I saw God before me for all time. Nothing can shake me, he's right by my side. I'm glad from the inside out, ecstatic; I've pitched my tent in the land of hope. I know you'll never dump me in Hades. I'll never even smell the stench of death. You've got my feet on the life-path, iwth your face shining sun-joy all around." The hope of easter! May I live like nothing can shake me and live with the joy/gladness that comes from the inside out at all times, not just when it is easy.

Psalm 2:12 "His anger is about to explode, but if you make a run for God - you won't regret it." God, allow me to always run to you with everything, good and bad, big and small. May your desires reign in my life, not my own.

Proverbs 2:6-8 "And here's why: God gives out Wisdom free, is plainspoken in Knowledge & Understanding. He's a rich mine of Common Sense for those who live well, a personal bodyguard to the candid and sincere. He keeps a close eye on all who live honestly, and pays special attention to his loyally committed ones." Lord, help me to strive to live well, be candid & sincere, live honestly, and be loyally committed. It's so easy to follow my ways and not yours. Thank you for your promises in your word, and provide we with Wisdom, Knowledge, Common Sense, and Understanding as I continue to dig into your word. Allow me to live your life through me.

Proverbs 2:21 "It's the men who walk straight who will settle this land, the women with integrity who will last here." Lord, help me walk straight. Allow me to put to rest my selfish desires of acceptance, poplularity, status, etc. and allow me to walk how you would have me walk. Allow me to be the father, husband, son, friend, brother, leader, and worker that you want me to be. Thank you for all the blessings that you have provided me, and continue to provide. Even though we may think of blessings financially, Lord, you've given me so many more that are worth so much more than any amount of money, and I thank you for that. Move in my lfie, be alive in my life, so that people can't help but see you instead of seeing me, not for my glory, but for your own. Thank you for the wonderful gift of your Son and for the fact that we have hope because He defeated death. You were risen on the third day, and you are still alive today. Thank you and I love you. Amen

It's Been a LONG Time.......

Well, if anyone is still following this blog, it has been a really long time since I have updated any thing. As you can see from below, things went bad for my dad and family, but God is good. My brother has made a tremendous recovery and my dad has since remarried to a woman he loves and cares for. Our relationship has grown in ways that can't be explained. Other things that have gone on since then. I have had a son, Bryson, about 21 months ago, and I have another one on the way, due July 1. Beth is staying at home and keeping kids, and I'm working at Square D and with our church, Fellowship Community Church.
But, that is not the reason why I wanted to get back to this post and hopefully start to be a little more consistent with them again. Today is Easter, a day in which we celebrate the fact that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who came to save us, arose today! What a wonderful thought and reality that our savior defeated death so if we accept Him, we will live with Him eternally! What an amazing and wonderful gift we have been giving. My prayer is that today lives would change, families would be reunited, and people that never would have thought to have anything to do with God would come to Him, accept his grace and forgiveness, and realized that they are loved and cared for by a God who made them. Please, let me kwow if you have any questions about anything I have said, and i'll be happy to help in any way I can.

Well.....after much encouragement!

Hey Guys and Gals,
IIII''''mmmmmmm back!! Things here have been going pretty well. Work is work, but it has been going a lot better now that I have a perminent plant and I'm not jumping back and forth from one plant to the other. Things outside of work have been pretty good as well. Church life is going great, and God is doing some awesome things through our church. Our church as a whole has almost doubled in size over the last year, and God is doing some cool things though the youth group as well. We are continuing to get plugged into the youth and we are beginning to really connect with the kids like we connected with the Cheraw gang. Don't worry....they'll never replace you.....only add to you.
Speaking of which, it's been a long time since we've seen any of you Cheraw folks. When's the visit coming? We'd love to have you any time. We miss you guys muchly and so wish to still be a part of your lives. I haven't heard from most of you recently, so I hope that all is well with everyone.
Well, that's about all. Oh, and I'm going to Africa in August, so that's cool. Have fun, everyone, and know that you all are thought about and prayed for.
Love you all,
Brandon

It Is Finished(sort of!)

Hey Guys and Gals,
Well, God is good. We have finally sold our old house and bought a new one here in Seneca! We were able to finally close on all things on Monday afternoon, so we have begun to slowly move things over to the new home and have begun painting in the master. I can't wait until you guys and gals can come and visit and see our new home. The sale and buy has taken a lot of our life recently, but things are still going good at our church. Plus, football has started, so that makes most things better! We are tailgating with the kids and adults before games and all. Even though things are going great here, we still miss all you guys! We miss being a part of your life and being there for you when things don't go your way. Please let me know how you all are doing and if you can come and visit! We'd love to see you and can work something out to make it happen!
Well, gotta run! Know that we love and miss you all! We are still praying for you guys and think about you all very often! Have a great week, and please continue to pray that God would use us here!
In Him,
Brandon
